Show about town 55th Timp Hike Brother! Everly Tf vr , The 55th Annual Hike to the top of 12,000 foot Mount Tim- panogos, sponsored by Brigham Young University, will take place Saturday, with a campfire pro- gram at Aspen Grove Friday evening. The climb draws as as 4,000 participants each year, many of whom complete the round trip to the top. Mt. Timpanogos is one of the countrys most magnificent peaks, and its summit affords 12-m- The Everly Brothers, creators of at least a dozen million selling records, will appear at Lagoon, this Saturday, July 30. Shows begin at 10:30 P.M. and 12:00 midnight. Their first hit, which sold 1.5 million copies, was "Bye Bye Love. The Brothers followed up with a stream of million and multi-millisellers such as So Sad, "Eb'Cathy s Clown, "Walk ony Eyes, Right Back, "Wake Up, Little Susie, and "Bird Dog. ile on grand panoramic views. Stamina more than climbing skill is need-maed for this jaunt. ny Pony Of The Americas Show Set The Utah Pony of the Americas Club will host an international show and race meet at Lagoon beginning Thursday August 2. The Pony of the Americas is a cross in miniature between a Quarter Horse and Arabian with Appaloosa color and characteris- with over 300 entries and 10 races. Performance shows will take r tics. The breed originated in America and is perfect for children too big for a Shetland and not big enough for a full size horse. Next weeks show will consist of 35 halter classes with 200 entries, 24 performance classes Ai:'f V I gt place Thursday, August 4, from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. and on Friday at 1 P.M. and 7 P.M. Races will be conducted Saturday August 6 at 1 P.M. with final performance class that day at 7 P.M. The Pony of the Americas is an intelligent breed, has a good disposition, is easily managed by children and is outstanding in such performance events as barrel racing, pole bending, wes- -.
