Show REVIEW. B5 September 2, 1965 Staff Chief Selected At Hospital Review Insurance Executive To Kick-Of- f 1.5 Million United Fund Drive William E. Walsh, retired vice president of Equitable Life Assurance Society, will be guest speaker at the kick off luncheon of the eleventh Salt Lake Area United Fund campaign, on September 14 Business and professional groups, including members of the Salt Lake Hotary and Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, sponsors of the affair, and other service clubs and union organizations, will hear Mr. Walshs message on the importance of federation. Mr. J. R. (Bud) Jack, president of Rotary, will call die meeting to order. Reservations for the luncheon meeting may be made by calling United Fund head1. quarters at The goal for this years drive is $1,500,000. which represents the needed amount of monies in order that the 39 member agencies of the Fund may maintain their vital community programs. This million and a half dollar goal also includes the Boy Scout Membership Sustaining money. A special cooperative plan between the Boy Scouts of America and the Salt Lake United Fund was made definite earlier this week. Kathleen Parker's wish will come true during the 1965-6- 6 season of the Utah Symphony when the Orchestra plays for the first time in its history in Spanish Fork. Tooele, Utah and Burley, Idaho are two other cities that will have their first visit from the Symphony. Residents of Spanish Fork will hear the Orchestra, under the direction of Mac .fro Maurice Abravanel, when the musicians travel to their city on November 20th. Members of Spanish Forks 19th Quorum of the Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints are sponsoring the concert which will be held in the new Spanish Fork High School auditorium at 8:00 P. M. on November 20, 1965. At the VA Hospital Dr. Bloomer will assume direction of an extensive research program of over one hundred separate projects, all operating in close cooperation with the University of Utah College of Medicine. He did his premedical studies at Notre Dame University and received his M D. degree from Marquette University and has spent his post graduate years in academic medicine.
