Show A 12 ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVIEW, July June 24, 1965 HQLLADAY NEWS NOTES Beta Sigma Phi members from all parts of Utah assembled in Ogden on June 11, 12 and 13, for a state ronvention. The Hotel Ben Lomand served as headquarters for the three-da- y event. The theme used for this years convention 13 was Memories," and chapters from Ogden assumed the role of hostess to approximately 200 members during the meet. Registration commenced on F ridap at the Hotel Ben Lomand from 8 P.M. to 10 P.M. A kick-o- ff brunch and fashion show was held in the ballroom at the Ogden Elks Club on Saturday at 11 A M The fashion show entitled Whats M y Line' was presented by the Belle Monde Dress Shop, and fashions were modeled by members of Ogdens Xi Sigma Chapter. Chairman and commentator of the show was Harriet Groom. Afterward, a forum was held and conducted by Katherine Walker of Preceptor Beta. That evening, members attired In western garbs and attended a social hour and chuck wagon buffet at the Kopper Kottage, 1701 Park Boulevard. During the dinner hour, the large group was entertained appropriate western-styl- e music by Ray Ellis and Kent McMullen Other special entertainment included several songs by a teen-ag- e girls' barbershop quartet group called the ' Barber Dolls," and a clever pantomine act by Larry Price and Ben Rudd. Sunday's agenda included a Devotional at 8 A M , Top O the Town, Hotel Ben Lomand, preceding a Continental Breakfast at 9 A M , and a scrapbook display on the prior to a banquet at 12:30 PM in the ballroom. Keynote speakers at the banquet were Dr. Merle Allen, Mayor of Ogden, and Mrs. Virginia Young Putika, International Representative. Holladays Xi Tau Chapter won the award for the largest attendance. Fourteen of their seventeen enrolled members attended the convention and were easily Identified in their neat appearing, look-aligold Jumpers and frilly white blouses they were all wearing.
