Show Carrie Jaussi selected as Merit Semi-finali- VeiDal ExpfCSS Friday, September 13, 1985 5 st Carrie Jaussi, a senior at Uintah High School and daughter of Curtis and Nancy Jaussi, has been named as a National Merit Carrie has maintained a 4 0 grade point during her high school years. Last spring she was chosen as the top math student at the high school. She also participated in debate, school play, German club and Honor Society. This year she is a member of the Cross Country team and is an officer in the Forensics Club and German Club. Semi-Finalis- TEACHER, TRACY MICH received some very pointed questions from the parents of middle school students after discussing the goals of Quest. t. Several of the teachers and administrators at Uintah High voiced high praise of Carrie. The say she is, delight to teach and a well rounded and exciting student She has an almost perfect attendance record at the school and she and her debate partner of last year, Richard Agustus, were the top school team and finished well at the regional tournament. Carrie is one of some 15,000 high school seniors representing outstanding young men and women in all of the 50 states who were chosen as in the 31st annual merit program. Since graduation, Ms. Bowden has accepted a secretarycomputer-relate- d position with Uintah School District. With her computer skills she is responsible for helping other secretaries in her office with computer programs. Ms. Bowden said, Im happy with education. The Uintah Care Centers first annual summer barbecue will be held this Saturday, September 14 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Everyone in the community is invited to come join the staff and patients in the back yard of the Center at 500 South and 500 West. Gamma Beta announces date of model meeting Gamma Beta, a chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, had their first meeting of the year Monday, Sept. 9 at the home of Christine Durkee. Eight members were present. Barbara Johnson announced that a chapter sweetheart would be picked at the next meeting. Paula Frost announced that the model meeting for any interested women will be the first meeting in October.
