Show THE TJETTAH EASE! FABHEB High Price Beef Not Caused By Cattle Growers Cattle growers are not responsible for the present high prices of beef, it was announced by John M. Macfarlane, president of the Utah Cattle and Horsegrowers associa of tion and chief state Inspector marks and brands. Mr. Macfarlane issued a statement declaring that speculators alon could be blamed for the conditions, concerning which there is considerable complaint. His statement says, in part; The present shortage in cattle is real. It took sir years to develop it and It may take years before the industry, stimulated by the higher prices caused by the shortage, can again be back to normalcy. The public cannot expect the prices of beef to fall back to the former level in view of the fact that it costs much more to- grow the stock today under prevailing high taxes, grazing costs and expenses that it did ten or twelve years ago. The various irrigation companies concerned had been requested to meet with a committee consisting of Ray E. Dillman, William H. Stone and Duncan March-an- t to discuss the poposition so that a definite arrangement may be made for interests in the Moon Lake project. The following companies were represented at the meting: Lake Fork Irrigation com pany, Farmers Irrigation company, Boneta Western Irrigation company and the Uteland Ditch company, all of which companies expressed the desire to subscribe for storage capacity in the project.
