Computers are going to become essential to every facet of life, Whittier explains. Already home computers are capable of indexing and storing family records such as checking accounts, genealogies, home inventories and recipes. Time management programs can be used for scheduling and planning while keeping track of birthdays, anniversaries and other special events. Additional options allow the home computer owner to access (obtain information and take action on) news wire services, Dow Jones reports, and electronic company bulletin boards, the latter allowing an individual to literally shop at home. By tying into banking terminals at institutions offering the service, computer buffs can even bank at home. SS'k components are also common. Consumers are much more knowledgable. In the past, people didnt know much about what drugs they were taking. Now they ask a lot of questions, said Thomas, who patiently and thoroughly answers customers inquiries. Thomas has also had a major change in his professional life. After working for five years at a pharmacy he owned in the Roy Drug Center, Thomas recently moved into his own building. It is called Roy Pharmacy and is located at 1953 W. 5600 S. next to Albertsons in Roy. It has been a dream of mine since high school to have my own store, said Thomas. Always warm and friendly, Thomas has organized Roy Pharmacy, to provide maximum assistance to his customers. We have big store prices, but emphasize small store drive-i- n customer conveni- ence. Thomas also maintains family profile cards at no charge. We keep one card for each family to record all past prescriptions, allergic reactions to drugs, and other important drug related information, said Thomas. Customers can request a copy for tax and insurance purposes. In addition to a complete supply of drug and health needs, Thomas stocks bulk candy in 25 varieties. Roy Pharmacys other major attraction is videotape rentals. Thomas also sells radios, blank tapes and cassette recorders. serve-yourse- lf In the waiting area, children can watch taped cartoons while their parents shop.
