Josephine Perri, 90, was surrounded by 200 family members during the afternoon at The Point After Supper Club in Helper for the family portion of the celebration. Later, the doors were open to the public and 200 more people showed up. Some family members and friends came from 800 miles away from three points in California. Some came from Wyoming, others from Provo and Salt Lake City. The party was full of pleasant surprises from the start. Mrs. Perns son Mike was making opening remarks during the family segment of the party, she received a long distance telephone call from the Rev. Frank Pellegrino, priest from St. Anthonys Church, who is temporarily in California. UMWA Several family members then stood to thank Mrs. Perri for all she had done for them, including a grand 1984 daughter who thanked her for encouraging her to go to college. Mrs. Perri and her late husband, Domenico Perri (died 1965) had 11 children, Emma Beacco said, Mrs. Perris daughter.
