Von HickEUGENE, Ore. man, 77, Eugene, Ore., died here Dec. 1, 1982. He was born May 6, 1905 in Castle Dale. He married Marvel Larson Aug. 19, 1931 in Provo. She survives. Other survivors include three children, Douglas, Eugene, David, Portland, and Katherine Hucek, Comptche, Calif.; five sisters, Maree Jensen, Edna Foote and Dougline Lundberg, all of Salt City, Vera Snow and I.eah Luke, both of Castle Dale; two brothers, George and John, both of Salt I,ake City; nine grandchildren and one A graduate of Castle Dale High School, he attended the University of Utah and went on a mission for his church. He began working as a life insurance agent for Northwestern Co. Mutual Life Insurance of Milwaukee, Wis., in 1932, and continued working for the company until his death. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Poole-Larse- n Funeral Home in Eugene. Additional graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Castle Dale Cemetery. He was born April 2, 1927 in Ixigan, 111., to George and Marie Byers. He married Maurine Mayer Feb. 24, 1950 in Grand Junction, Colo. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Glen Allan Byers, Hacienda Heights, Calif.; two daughters, Karen Lee McMenomy, West Covina, Calif., and Carolyn Swartz, San Gabriel, Calif.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Allan Byers, Lombard, 111., and Glen Byers, Moab; and three sisters, Ellen IJvingston, Moab, Shirley Wharff, Salt Lake City, and Vera Carey, Castro Valley, Calif.
