Board to rule on stamps SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -The Utah Wildlife Board will rule at a special meeting Dec. 23 on a proposal for special fish stamps. The board, meeting at the state Division of Wildlife Resources headquarters last month, heard a proposal that trout fishermen be required to have a special fishing stamp, costing $3 to $5, in addition to their regular fishing licenses. A similar proposal was made for warmwater fishermen. The board heard the proposals after adopting regulations proposed by bass fishermen and after setting fishing regulations for the next two years. The board adopted a policy under which juvenile anglers may purchase an adult license and catch a full limit of fish. They may continue, if they prefer, to buy the juvenile licenses allowing them to catch half limits. Changes in warmwater fishing, which had been sought Utah B.A.S.S. by the Federation, included: Reducing largemouth and smallmouth bass limits from 10 fish to six fish and establishing a size limit on all waters except Lake Powell. Doubling the walleye limit at lake Powell from 10 to 20 12-in- fish. Doubling the striped bass limit at Lake Powell from two to four. Opening Deer Creek Reservoir to d yellow perch and walleye fishing. The board also reduced the Bonneville cisco limit from 50 to year-roun- 30. The board set the 1983 season from May 29 to Nov. 30 and the 1984 Piece Starvation Closing Reservoir to bass fishing. season from June Nov. 30. 2 through Worship: 11 a.m. 760 W.
