Childrens Art from Japan will be presented to young and old alike weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gallery East curator Jim Young is inviting elementary and junior high school students to view the works created by Japanese children ages 6 to 14. Im especially intrigued by the intricate designs and lines used by the Japanese students and think the area students would appreciate viewing the talent exemplified by these young artists, Young said. The exhibit was presented to Salt Lake City in 1975 from its sister city, Matsumoto, Japan. The exhibit has toured extensively throughout Utah since its presentation. exhibit are etIncluded in the chings, watercolors, woodcuts and oil paintings depicting the vision of the Japanese children. The works were selected from schools throughout Matsumoto. Funding for the exhibit tour is through the Utah Arts Council and Utah Endowment of the Humanities.
