governor 0 o sent will free richt against I 1 governor an sank has replied to the petition from minneapolis bus ness men who asked him to cease his fight on the so called railroad merger the governor says I 1 be to acknowledge receipt of a petition from business men in the city of minneapolis proposing that no immediate action be taken against the northern securities company and that a fair opportunity far testing by experience whether goott or evil will come from that company the consolidation of the northern pacific and the great northern railway companies through tl e tion of the northern Se corn pany Is clearly a violation of the state tt atutes I 1 obligated myself when I 1 was n augu rated governor of the stale to enforce the laws thereof it is my bounden duty to prevent it possible the consolidation referred to because such consolidation is in violation rio lation of the clear and ible provisions of the laws which have been on the sta ute books for a guarter of a century
