But what is really scary is that the holiday and its trappings greatly increase the risk of injury to children. According to the Utah Safety most injuries that Council, occur on All Hallows Eve can be prevented. Halloween in juries involve: environmental hazards such as steps, uneven pavement and other obstacles in the dark that can cause falls, flammable and cumbersome costumes, wigs and masks; and motorists who are unable to see. The following safety suggestions will help make this Halloween injury-fre- e. Falls are the leading cause of accidents on Halloween. The obituaries Elaine A. Lindemood Elaine Andreen Morris Lindemood, 63, died Oct. 20, 1988 in Salt Lake City. Bom Feb. 20, 1925 in Mohrland, Utah to John Volfred and Annie Mildred Monsen Andreen. Married Marvin L. Morris in 1943; divorced. Married George H. Lindemood May 6, 1978 in Elko. He died June 29, 1980. Married Harold D. Bearden January 1987. Member of LDS Church. Survived by son, John L. Morris and wife, Susie, Salt Lake City; daughters, Marva and Michael Lortsher, Salt Lake City; Karen and Kevin Fraizer, Salt Lake City; Janice and Steve Gegg, Midway. Preceded in death by daughter, Janet Morris. Also surviving, 11 brothers, Wayne grandchildren; Andreen, WVC; and Calvin Andreen, Price; sisters, Iris Grogan; and Katherine Olsen, both Price. Funeral services were held Oct 24 in the Taylorsville 37th LDS Ward. Burial, Valley View Memorial Park. The following tips will help keep children on their feet: Apply face paint or cosmetics directly g to the face. It is safer than obwhich could masks struct a childs vision. If a mask is worn, cut the eyeholes large enough to allow full vision and be certain the mask fits securely. Give flashlights so they can see and be seen more clearly. Make costumes short enough to avoid tripping over them. Secure hats so they will not slip over childrens eyes. Dress children in shoes that fit; mothers high heels are not safe for Do not allow children to carry knives, swords or other props unless they are soft or flexible. Anything they carry could hurt them in a fall. Warn children not to cut across yards where they can trip over lawn ornaments or run into clotheslines that are invisible in the dark. Tell them to stick to the sidewalks. Hortense Whimpey Chapman Hortense Whimpey Chapman died Oct. 25, 1988 at Castleview Hospital. Bom Dec. in 1918 7, Cleveland to John Whimpey and Sarah Me Mullin. Married E-lv- in (Bal-d- y) Chap- man 9, 1938 in Price. He preceded April her in death, June 23, 1986. Member of the LDS Church. Resident of Carbon County since 1938. Survived by a son, James Chapman, Price; a daughter, Mrs. Tom (Juanita) Richard, Price. Preceded in death by a son, Jack Chapman. Also survived by a brother, Louis Whimpey, Orangeville; two sisters, Maxine Hamilton, Price; and Mrs. Bob (Blanche) Forrester, Tucson; and four grandchildren. Watch for children walking in the street or on medians and curbs. Be prepared for children to dart out in the street at any time, especially from between parked cars. Enter and exit driveways and alleys carefully. Make sure your headlights are clean and working so you can see and be seen.
