Four regional qualifying competitions will be introduced into the 1988 format in order to further achieve the fou- ndations objectives of encouraging wholesome amateur athletic competition among the residents of Utah, fostering incentives for such competition, and providing enhanced public recognition of Utahs best amateur athletes. Four regions have been designated which include the following counties: (1) North Region (Box Elder, Cache, Daggett, Davis, Morgan, Rich, Weber); (2) Salt Lake Region (Salt Lake); (3) Central Region (Carbon, Duchesne, Emery, Juab, Piute, Tooele, Uintah, Utah, Wasatch); and (4) South Region (Beaver, Garfield, Grand, Iron, Kane, Millard, San Juan, Sanpete, Sevier, Washington, Wayne). The Utah Summer Games Foundation is now accepting proposals from select cities and towns within each of these regions who are interested in the opportunity to host their regions games.
