Ray was scheduled to fight against a Salt Lake favorite, 132 pounder Mark Alley. Alley did not show up and so it seemed as though Montoya would not compete that evening. Utahs waterfowl hunting season began early this month 6 with a split season (Oct. and Dec. 3) for ducks, tundra swan (with swan permits only), Wilsons snipe and coot. General geese season runs Oct. 10 through Jan. 3 with bag limits and other details explained in the states Waterfowl Proclamation.
