Bob Robirts Economic committee chairman The goals of the Carbon County Economic Development Committee for 1985 are well on their way to being reached. Manager Bob Ribirts has proven to be a great assest, not only to this committee but to our whole area. This year we are hoping to achieve the goals listed below: 1. identifying the strengths and weaknesses of our county Economic development manager The Carbon County Economic Development Committees main thrust for the upcoming year will be to specifically target companies to relocate in Carbon County. This will be done by forming a Target Industry Committee, whose task it will be to review the survey and audit data and standard industrial codes to determine the industries that best fit our needs. We will also look at the companies with growth potential that best represent industries. The committee will be composed of leading citizens and local elected officials. Our second main task is to initiate a master zoning and promotion plan for the Carbon County Industrial Park located south of Price. Industrial land and location is extremely important to a communitys economic development plans. those Resident covenants and restrictive deeds for the prospective tenants will be generated as well as plans for access, transportation to water and sewer utilities, best utilize the parks potential for efficiency for the prospective tenants. In addition we are and will be doing research on founding it and funding a development corporation as a source of venture capital for expanding our local businesses non-prof- On February 4, a federal procurement conference was held at the Radisson Inn for local business people to become acquainted with the methods ncessary to sell to the federal government. Speakers from Utah Power development; 2. keep and expand the existing businesses of Carbon County and; 3. begin laying the ground work for economic incentives for possible new industry. 1986 will see a continuation of working toward efforts started in 1985.
