Show Wednesday, March Sun Advocate, 12, 1986 Price, Utah 3B Dinos (Continued from Page IB) Dons clinched a tournament berth by pulling away from the Dinos in overtime, Carbon blew lead allowing the a Dons to tie the score at 4 at the end of regulation time. Spanish Fork did not attain a lead over the Dinos until they scored the first basket of the overtime to take a nt 54-5- three-minu- te 56-5- 4 advantage. They never relinquished this lead after that, although Carbon did manage to tie the score at 6 seconds after the Dons assumed the lead. The Dons, like Carbon, are a young team, developing very fast the last half of the season, to come on strong and earn a berth in the 56-5- tournament. The Dons face South High of Salt Lake City, also on Wednesday, in their first game of the meet at Hillcrest High. Cook paced the Dino offensive effort against Spanish Fork as he hit a season high of 19 points. Johnson, after being held to just two points in the first half, came on to score 11 in the second hald. The Dinos lost Cunningham via the foul route in this game, the Dino senior going out with six points to his credit. Kris Kofford came on and did an admirable job in adding five points to the Dino total. The state Class 3A meet is being played at four locations in the early rounds, Utah Tech in Orem and Woods Cross High as well as Bountiful and Hillcrest. The culmination will come Saturday when both the Class 4A and 3A finals will be played in the Special Events Center at the University of Utah on the same night. Ben Lomond will be a strong challenge for the Dinos, Excell saying this is the best team he has had since taking over at the Ogden school.
