Johanson Reaches Eightieth Birthday Fredrick Gustuv Johanson will be honored with an open house on May 7th to celebrate his 80th birthday. Friends and relatives are being invited to call at the Wandarere Ward, 601 Mansfield Avenue, between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. His children are hosting the event. Fredrick was born in Salt Lake, the son of Johan Mangus Johanson and Gerda Charlotte Person on May the 6th, 1908. He married Elizbeth Mary Mitchell on June 26, 1929 in Salt Lake. Th? honored mans parents immigrated from Sweden to Uath and he was the first of 13 children to be born in America. As a young man he was employed at the Brickyard and the at Salt Lake Stamp Co. where he sold and serviced time clocks for over 57 years. Active in the LDS church, he has been Elders Quorum counselor president, in a Bishopric, and superintendent of (Mrs. Jim) Larson of Elmo, Utah; Sunday School. His hobbies Mitchell (Hene) Johanson of S. L.; include fishing, gardening, golfing Mary (Mrs. Larry) Gallagher of and being with his children, S.L.; and Emme (Mrs. Brent) Lee grandchildren and great- ofS.L. grandchildren. He has twenty six grandchilHis children are: Renee (Mrs dren (one deceased) and 31 Roy) Park of Murray; LaRene MISSIONARIES Larry Todd Wright Larry Todd Wright has received his call to serve an LDS mission to Ventura, California, and will enter the training center on May 25. His farewell meeting will be held in the Taylorsville 31st ward 3200 West 5200 South, at 9 a.m. on May 8. The future missionary is the son of Larry Glen and Susan R. Wright and they are inviting friends and family to their home, 3074 Robinwood Dr., between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. Robert W. Harwood Robert W. Harwood, son of Robert L. and Karalee C. Harwood, has recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of Troop No. 6571 with Doyle Atwood of the Taylorsville 5th LDS ward as scoutmaster. Aaron Ellis, son of Jim and Julie Ellis, of West Valley City, has recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of Troop No. 844 of the Heritage LDS ward with Jack as his Bailey scoutmaster. Aaron has earned 23 merit badges and for his service project he fingerprinted the primary aged children of his ward. He is a student at John F. Kennedy Jr. high and has a 4.0 grade point average. He is a member of the Pirates baseball team in the Granger Babe Ruth league. He is the grandson of Leo and Ellis, Dorothy Carmichael, California, and Dick and Mary Alice Turner of Sandy. Aaron plans on continuing his scouting career by being a counselor at scout camps on the East Fork of the Bear River. He is the grandson of John L. and Evelyn Petersen, Kearns and Glen L, and. Margaret Wright of West Valley City. V Larry is a Taylorsville graduate. high Scott Tingley Brian Thomas Aaron Ellis Richardson Brian Thomas Richardson, son and Marguerite of Bennion, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of Troop No. 695 with Jim Larsen of the Bennion 14th LDS ward as his Varsity team leader. Earl Tervort was his scoutmaster. Brian has earned 32 merit badges and for his service project he built water bars for water run-of- f control on Church Fork Trail in Millcreek Canyon. He joins his brother Paul in the Eagle rank. His grandparents are Delsa Owen of Taylorsville and Elaine Richardson of Murray. Brian is a student at Bennion jr. high in the eighth grade. He has earned his Arrow of Light, Faith in God and On My Honor awards. of Owen Richardson, Scott Tingley, son of Ronald and Peggy Tingley, of Taylorsville, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of Troop No. 591 with Roland Turpin of the Taylorsville 3rd ward, as his scoutmaster. Scott has earned 23 merit badges and for his service project he made two stop stools for use by the children in his ward. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Jettie, Salt Lake and Clarence D. Tingley, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Scott is a student at Eisenhower jr. high. He has earned his On My Honor award, Arrow of Light award.
