A rootin tootin melodrama of the Gay 90s, Deadwood Dick, will be presented by Community West Theatre, Feb. 4, 5 and 8 at Cyprus high Curtain time each night will be at 7:30. Seating will be in the auditorium, with tickets priced at $3 per person. The play is under the direction of Charles Brown with Judy McKinlay as assistant director. Brown is drama teacher at Cyprus. McKinlay is president of Community West Theatre and a Cyprus high graduate, class of 1964. She in participated of The Curious productions Savage and You Cant Take It With You. Terry Parker, a 1987 Cyprus graduate who appeared in many school plays is serving as technical Annette director; Waterlyn, Cyprus class of 1966, is business manager. Deadwood Dick, written by Tom Taggart, is a good old fashioned melodrama with villains to boo, heroines to sigh over and heroes to cheer. Cast members, drawn from the community, have been involved in one way or another in innumerable Cyprus or Commu- nity West productions, said the director. Dan Grondahl, (Ned Harris,) is a Cyprus junior and appeared in Ten Little Indians, You Cant Take It With You, Matchmaker, Fiddler On The Roof and in the film, Promised Land. Ted Davis, (Wild Bill Hickok,) a 1985 Cyprus graduate, has appeared in many acting roles including Annie Get Your Gun, Man Of LaMancha, Bye, Bye Birdie and Our Town . Cindy Kennard, (Lily Blossom,) appeared in Fiddler On The Roof and Our Town, and Julie Eves, also a junior, in Fiddler. Shawn ORarden, (Blackman Redburn) is a 1986 graduate of Cyprus and appeared in Our, Town, Bye, Bye Birdie, Curious Savage, and more recently in and in the movie, Knocking On Heavens Door.
