Show 3B At Vista 22. 1987 Tuesday, December THE GREEN SHEET - Celebration Of The Trees TAYLORSVILLE. Sixteen students were named winners in a Celebration of the Trees activity sponsored last week by students involved in a gifted and talented program at Vista elementary. The entire project was under the direction of a student committee including Rebecca Clark, Alison Todd Matt Bridge, Rogers, Simper, Tom Leishman and Lynda Hill. The students handled everything, noted teacher Janet and Thorpe, making flyers on announcements, deciding and rules, calling judges arranging for publicity. Teachers including Miss Thorpe, Betty Ellis and Pam Valladolid, stood back and watched, she said, and let the students do all the ideas and creativity shown. Winners included: most original, Amber Bowcutt; most original ornament, Patty Timms; most fancy, Amy Jager; most colorful, most Art Choate; beautiful, Amanda Hess; most sparkly, Josh Pehrson and Bevan Hancock. Also, most traditional, Lana Jessop; most humorous, Steven Zolman; theme, Nick Linton; cutest, David Lund; most clever, Riley Wilkinson; most interesting, Dan Bergantz; best use of food, Mandy Thayne; most educational, Nesbitt and Jeanie Angela the trees were to be judged in a variety of categories. Entries included a tree made of cookies, another of tinsel. There were popcorn trees, paper trees, one made from a tumbleweed, and one, planted firmly in a garbage pail, decorated with Garbage Pail Kids cards. Principal Donald Christensen entered a tree made of tiles, for which he received an award as best supporter of the project. Judges from outside the school selected winning entries, and commented on the variety of Hickenlooper Land Surveying Class Offered At SLCC Land Survey System taught on campus. The first called course Introduction to Surveying is a historical tour of the surveying profession from its beginning to the present.
