As we leave the halls of Kearns high, we look back and remember . We remember 13 Oxe years of hard work, dedication and determination We remember moments, experiences, failures and successes. We remember, people, aquain-tanceand friends. And we remember what may be one of the most important times in our lives, our senior year. The year 1987 was filled with fun, excitement, new experiences, learning and friends. We remember the first pencil we received from the student body officers at the beginning of the year, with the slogan KHS on the move. And thats exactly what it was all year long. We remember the hard working football team starting off at to go to state the second straight year. Who dat say dem Cougars aint back. Homecoming with the first ever triathlon. It brought former cheerleaders, athletes, officers and all alumni back home to Cougar Country. Spirit Week brought out pride, with the seniors winning over the juniors and sophomores. Cheering, yelling, jumping up and down was part of this weeks fun. The basketball team which brought fun and excitment to a Friday night. The girls team which had a 17-- record finished third in region and seventh in state. How bout dem Cougars. We remember the dances, Homecoming with great decorations, girls pref., Junior Prom, Senior Ball. And the stomps, especially the first ever beach stomps at the swimming pool. Clubs and organizations made the year memorable: Mr. Christensen will meet with patrons at 7p.m. June 17 at the home of Douglas and Lynda Garff, 4866 So. Hillurn; end at the same time on June 24 at the home of Jeff and Renee Petersen, 4784 So 2200 West. Light refreshments weiJl be served on both ooccasions. Through the good and bad times, we have been friends That was one of the prevailing feelings at graduation this past week As the graduation ceremony ended, there were many tears and hugs . followed by shouts of joy. Graduation was a time to remember; a time we will reminisce about over the years. As we each said goodbye to our friends of three years or more, ue vowed to stay in touch. Staying in touch, remaining friends, is difficult though as v,e each go separate ways. Even for those in the same neighborhood or college, interests change. Yet we have one thing to rely on our memories Memories of that time when everyone sluffed first period English to go to breakfast. That time after the advanced placement exams that we celebrated in the canyons. That time you sat day dreaming about the gorgeous girlboy sitting next to you wishing shehe would ask you out. Taht time we went to stte in football as sophomores, as well as our basketball team's trip to state this . . graduate of Granger high and Brigham Young University, He taught foreign languages in Jordan School District and has served as assistant principal at Academy Park elementary in Granite District. There are many, many more. Along with looking back upon our senior year and our past education, go many thanks. Thanks to all who taught us, who helped us learn, to the teachers who cared enough to push us, to make us get it done when it had to be. To the administrators, Mr. Haacke, Mr. Campos, Mr. Petersen for allowing us to have great activities, for keeping KHS in order and guiding us through the year. To the class officers for helping out in activities and to the senior class officers for a great class gift. To the student body officers for planning and executing activities and for their time and effort put in to make 87 great. To Mrs. Elaine Burrows for all she did for the SBOs and for helping everyone out with scholarship applications, for being a friend to everyone. To Mrs. Milius who took in these articles.
