Show THE GREEN SHEET 7B More Than 200 Girls, 14 Boys - Cyprus Dancers To Perform Next Week MAGNA. A Brand New Day is the theme of the annual dance concert to be presented at 7 p.m. May 9 and 10 in the Cyprus high auditorium. About 250 students, including 14 boys, will be involved in the production, which will feature a wide variety of dance styles. Routines will include modern, jazz, tap, ballet and character jazz, according to director Lori Rupp. The program will also feature a presentation by dance club alumni, including students from the class of 1979 up to date, choreographed by Tammy Crawford Simons, also an alum of the dance club. The Night Line Dancers, a professional team, will also perform. Featured numbers will include solo dances by Tim Jennings and by Kris Kennard, who will perform her national championship routine. Miss Kennard took first place in solo at the recent national contest held in California. Cheer, Drill, Pep Squads Most of the shows numbers were choreographed by students, with the director handling the opening, senior and officers routines, plus the grand finale, which will be danced to the theme song. Names of cheerleaders, Chirons and Echelons for the 1986-8school year have been announced at Taylorsville high. Varsity cheerleaders will be Richelle Borg, Heidi Buckner, Denise Copier, Kristie Hansen, Mario Hussey, Kim Ivie, Richard Jenkins, Natalia Lawson, Tracy Wishart and Gina Zupo. Serving as junior varisty cheerleaders will be Kim Cook, Kristie Evanson, Meredith Mackay, Kristie Naylor, Wendy Nelson and Heather Wiskerchen. The Chirons (drill team) for the coming year include Chris Baer, 7 nard, Danis Drapar, Charyl Campbell and Korl Ann Thurmon or among thos who will perform May 9 and 10 at Cyprus high. Barratt Phillips, a senior at Taylorsville high, has received a $1,000 National Honor Society scholarship, sponsored by the National Assn, of Secondary School Principals and the L. G. Balfour Foundation. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Phillips, he is one of 450 winners announced by the NASSP. Each high school National Honor Society chapter was entitled to nominate two seniors, based on leadership, scholastic achievement, character and service.
