Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton will make the Salt Palace one of their stops during first-eve- r their tandem concert tour. Their three month schedule began at the Oakland Coliseum on Dec. 28, and the pair will give a series of very much-anticipate- d, special performances through March. Their Salt Lake performance is slated Feb. 6. During the concert, Parton and Rogers will each perform a solo set, as well as doing several numbers together. Dolly Parton is one of my very favorite people in the world, said Kenny Rogers. Something really exciting happens when we work together. Shes tremendously talented as a singer, writer, and actress. Operation Safe Child week will be observed Monday through Thursday, Jan. : Doris Larsen announced. Larsen, who represents National Video, the worlds largest video franchise, explained that the four-da- y event is part of a national campaign to promote education on the problems of child abuse and stimulate awareness of the tools available to combat molestation and abduction. As part of Operation Safe Child week, National Video is offering free overnight rental of the video Strong Kids, Safe Kids, hosted by Henry Winlder. is a Strong Kids, Sale Kids family guide developed to help parents teach their children to stop molestation or obduction before it has a chance to start. The video is to be viewed by parents and children together,' and through a series of lessons on the tape, children are given information and tips aimed at making them safer and wiser. Advance reservations for group or individual camp sites are now being accepted for all developed Utah state parks. Application forms arc available at any state park or at the Division of State Parks and Recreation office, 1636 North Temple. Telephone reservations will be accepted only at Wasatch Mountain and Bear Lake state parks. Reservations are accepted for the year, but Wasatch Mountain state park only accepts them 90 days in advance. To permit time for processing and notification by mail, applications should be received at least 10 days prior to the date requested. Camping fees vary with the facilities available at each park.
