Show 3B THE GREEN SHEET October Nuptials Unite Karen Homer, R. Haws Wedding vows were exchanged on October 12th by Karen Homer and Robert Dean Haws in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. VOTE The newlyweds were honored at a wedding breakfast, following the ceremony, at the Midvale 7th and 8th ward which the grooms parents hosted. Later that evening a reception was given at the Old Meeting House. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon J. Homer, Sandy. and Connie Haws as other attendants. The best man was Kelly Haws, the grooms brother, and ushers were Marty Haws, Patrick Haws, Jeff Homer, Drew Homer and Glenn Payne. The newlyweds will make their home in Salt Lake following a short Thursday, October 25, 1984 J. Edward Jenkins Celebrates 80th Year The brothers and sisters of J. Edward Jenkins will honor him on his 80th birthday with an open house on Saturday, October 27th. The event will be held at the Lake Ridge LDS 9th Ward, 7825 West Shardon Drive (3360 South), from 4:00 until 7:00 p m. Ed was born on October 21 , 1904, to Arthur Vernon and Grace Alice Moss Jenkins in Pleasant Green, now Magna, and was one of 12 Walter children. Over the past 80 years Ed has been a real estate salesman, a rancher in Vernon, Utah, and an employee of Hercules Power Co. in their chemical department. He enjoys the outdoors, camping, fishing, traveling, gardening, and young people. Because of this enjoyment, he has been involved in scouting for the past 50 years. Ed has five living brothers and sisters, they are: Florence Harvey, Magna; Alice Anderson, Pleasant Grove; Marion Griffiths and Kenneth E., both Salt Lake; and Rulon, West Valley. R. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph J. Haws, Midvale. He graduated from Jordan high and is attending the University of Utah. He filled an LDS mission to the Philippines. Pre-nupti- The family of Hugo K. Mitchell will host an open house to honor him on his 90th birthday. The special occasion will be held Saturday, October 27th, at the LDS ward house, 3270 W. 3650 South, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and they request no gifts. Hugo was born November 13th, 1894 in Kamas to Nathanial J. and Yoma Zenith Mitchell. On August 29, 1917 he married Martha Marett in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and they became the parents of 12 children. Their children are: Ila (Mrs. Verl) Holt, Dragerton; Victor, Monroe, Washington; Marcus, South Jordan; Lela (Mrs. K. J.) Galloway, Tempa, Arizona; Beth (Mrs. Gordon) Evans, West Valley; Ben, Duchesne; Wanda (Mrs. Keith) Bas-tiaNeola; lone (Mrs. Bill) Baggs, Ogden; Nona (Mrs. Stuart) Allred, West Jordan; Jack, Granger; Lorna (Mrs. Evard) Squires, Mona; and Loal, deceased. They have 50 grandchildren, 82 and 5 Hugo is active in the LDS church where he served as a Bishop, was in other Bishoprics for 33 years and served as a temple worker for five years. He is a retired brick mason. Hugo J. Mitchell LDS Mission Is Planned By Delwyn Price Delwyn Price has been called to an LDS mission to Rapid City, serve South Dakota. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorin is a gradute of Price, Midvale, and Hillcrest high.
