(See Page 8B, Col. 1) I 1 The Food Tastes As Good As It Looks Seung-Hee- : by Michele PEKING DUCK . . . Among the delicacies offered at Seung-He- e Restaurant is Peking Duck. Bartniess MIDVALE. The food served at Seung-He- Restaurant, e So. 7157 State, tastes as good as it looks - and in this instance, that is saying a lot. Never have I been served such beautiful food - chicken and fresh pineapple in a halved pineapple, prawns and scallops in a love nest and fried rice with tender chunks of ham and tiny pink shrimp. The carrots were cut in the shape of butterflies and eagles. Were talking lovely. There are 136 selections on the menu ranging from American, Chinese-Amerieaand authentic Chinese dishes both Cantonese and Szhechuan styles. Some of the items are written in Chinese. Kwan Wong, who owns and operates the restaurant along with her husband, Kam, says that they get a great deal of business from native Orientals from throughout the valley. Which should tell us something. While every taste can be served, so can every price range. Combination plates range from $3.45. Peking spare ribs will cost you $3.95. The much-loveprawns and scallops in -- n SHRIMP REUNION . . . Superb seafood dishes such as Shrimp Reunion are on the Seung-He- e d the love nest, made from shoestring potatoes, costs $6.95 and is worth every penny. The scallops are tender, almost melting in your mouth, as opposed to the rubbery consistency you often find. The prawns are delicately seasoned. Of course theres Peking duck for a feast, priced at $22.95. Proving popular with the lunch crowd is a $2.99 buffet that includes sweet and sour pork, chow mein, egg roll and a host of other items. The food is replaced with items about every half hour so that the customer is assured of crisp vegetables and quality taste. Nothing is allowed to get soggy. The foods are cooked in a wok and have that crispy freshness that style of cookery produces. I cant wait to go back and try it. In fact, by the time this reaches print, I hope to have done so. There's even a price break for children. The buffet is served from 11 a.m. to3p.m. A dinner for four was selling at 14.95 and two can eat for $5.75. Delivery service is available between 4500 and 9000 South and between 1700 West and 1300 East. There are also banquet facilities. fresh-cooke- The decor in what was once a Sambos Restaurant is beautiful, a lot of gold and red with traditional Chinese patterns. Ive heard it said that good, authentic Chinese food is hard to find in the valley. Obviously, those who said that hadnt had an opportunity to visit Seung-Hee- . d FOR THE FINEST IN DINING PLEASURE...
