Make seven erin a game and youre lucky if you lose by only one run. That's what Taylorsville did Monday, playing its worst ball of the year in an 7 loss to West Jordan. The setback came on the heels of an win over South and a easy game with Bingham that was called because of darkness. Coach Barry Sceilis club was playing fairly well going into its encounter with upstart West Jordan, rors 8-- 6-- 6 0 which with the win over Taylorsville, has won more games this year than it did all of last year. Poor Taylorsville fielding posted lead after three West Jordan to a innings. Craig Vargo led off with a single and came around to score on a double by Phil Evans. Evans then scored on a double by Walker, his fifth RBI of the game. Walker went to third on a ground out. After a walk, Sceili gave Lund the suicide squeeze signal on an pitch. He didn't get the ball down. Walker was dead and the resulting double play ended the inning, setting hit by Douglas. up the Walker was 3x3 at the plate, giving him eight hits in his first 12 in Valley American Legion play. Steve Estey earned the mound win for West Jordan. winning run off Jonny Walker. Walker had put himself into a hole by walking the leadoff hitter in the seventh. But other than that mistake, he had shut West Jordan down after relieving Greg Case. Taylorsville didn't come to life until the fifth when two walks and an error loaded the bases with nobody out. After Mike Littlewood's sacrifice fly drove in Shawn Lund with the first run, Phil Evans walked to reload the sacks.
