Show Reflections Winners Honored KEARNS. Reflections contest winners have been honored at David Gourley elementary. Overall winner in the literature division was Wendi Johnston. Winners in the intermediate grades were Andrea Sorenson, first place; Marci Rae Anderson, second; Leigh Christiansen, third. In the primary grades, Ellen Christiansen, first place; Chad Jemmett, second; Katie Carlisle, honorable mention. In the visual arts division, primary grade winners included Tammy Griffiths, best overall; Danny Roecker, best use of theme; Candice Lowry, best use of color; Christopher Denner, most original; Michelle Smith, most interesting. Two new programs are being inaugurated this month by the Skills Center division of Utah Technical College. A class in microcomputer maintenance and repair technician begins tomorrow (Friday). The program is the third level of electronics for those who have passed the electronics assembly and electronics test technician classes. An class begins April 25 at Pyke Manufacturing for people desirous of learning power sewing as used in the garment industry. These two, along with all others offered by the Skills Center, are open to taxpayers who meet the criteria. One aspect which is not generally known is that students agree they will go to work in the trade for which they have been trained. The Skills Center does not offer college credit. Its prime purpose is to provide sufficient training so that students can become employable. Further education may subsequently be gained in other schools of Utah Tech.
