Two women from the entire circulation area will be chosen for this honor, one from the west valley area newspapers. Thousands of stories go through our office telling of the activities of active, vital women and while we know of these . . . and they are most certainly eligible . . . only you know of the women who do what you greatly admire, with no publicity at all. By sending in the Entry Blank found on this page, you will have the opportunity to enter your choice of a woman. Fill in the name, address and phone number of the woman you choose. This is necessary so that we can ascertain that she does live within our area and also so we can reach her. We do not want or need a long essay. All we need are short phrases such as, Very talented . . . Always gets the job done . . . Courage in the face of great pain . . . Great inspiration. Maybe your Woman of the Year will be one who gives her time and energy as a volunteer with nary a thought of reward, either in money or praise. Perhaps your choice is one with talent running out of her ears and who gives of it where and whenever asked. Look for the woman who acts, talks and responds in the way you wish you could look, act, talk and respond. and the other from the eastern part of the valley. The two women will be chosen by you, the readers of the Green Sheet So now the holidays are over and as we cautiously remeasure our waist lines and hips, instead of the universal rejoicing of two weeks ago, we find there is weeping and wailing throughout the land. Oh, know we vowed we'd only 'just taste' each goodie that was offered us, and we did. But dang it, how were we to know there would be so many goodies offered that there that we took. And It was no end to the I all settled down nicely and cozily right on our hips. Just as It intends to stay, too. if But don't let it settle down too comfortably. Get at it right now. And, to help you along the way here are two right good recipes for you to try. I'm certain, but like me, think of it as a dish. And it can be, too, but let me tell you, here is a great 'pasta' that will set nicely on your taste buds but leave your hips alone. You like calorie-ric- pasta h Buy yourself a couple of nice firm eggplants, and if eggplant isn't on your usual shopping list, begin now and get acquainted with some good eating. Okoy, wash those beautiful eggplants and toss them Into a 350 degree oven and let bake for holf on hour or so. Just as you would a potato, only they don't take as long. When the eggplant is done (squeeze gently with your towel covered hand), take them from the oven and plunge into cold water. Peel them, and you won't have any trouble here, for the peel comes away from top to bottom quite easily. Seek the woman you might not even personally know, but who has been an inspiration to you with her words, deeds or thoughts. Perhaps your choice will be that woman, who . . . when some project is falling apart can pull it all together and make a roaring success of what seemed a certain disaster. Maybe the woman you choose has not done anything special. Not a thing, and yet, has coped, and coped admirably, under circumstances which would paralyze most of us. Like making a success of life while caring for a terribly ill or handicapped child or husband. Or with an accident which changed her life or that of her family. Two women will be cited . . . make your choice today. The two women chosen will receive plaques telling of will be noted. this honor. Runner-up- s Make up your mind now, but dont let it be a chore.
