Poulsen, a retired cop who is now a teacher at Douglas C. Orchard school, is realizing a dream that he has long cherished about implementing respect for the law at grass root levels. Poulsen, who was born in Montana and grew up in Garfield, got into the law enforcement business by a freak twist of fate. When he got out of the service he went back to his old job as a journeyman painter at Kennecott, while looking for a night job so he could go on to school. By the early 70s the program had grown to include a school wide court system that had both the blessings of the principal and the support of the kids, as well as the enthusiasm of the parents.
