A realignment of boundaries of Granger and Granger 'Central ef- stakes has been fected, giving the Central stake two wards that were formerly in Granger stake boundaries. The change took place Sunday during the general session of Granger Central stake conference. The new boundaries of the Central stake include the area between 2700 and West 3200 to 4100 excepting the Granger 17th and 20th wards. Now a part of the Central stake are the Granger 3rd and 11th wards. Prior to the change, Granger stake contained 11 wards and the Central stake only five. The realignment will give Granger nine and the Granger Central will now have seven wards. For the time being, members of the two wards in the new stake will continue meeting in the same buildings, the 11th ward in the Granger stake center and the 3rd ward in the building on Market Street. Cities and counties would be allowed to raise their levies to compensate for the lost sales tax. In a related area, a Senate joint resolution on tax revision that received tentative approval Monday would allow state and local governments to share revenue. Technically, revenue sharing is prohibited by state law, a provision which resulted in a previously-approvesales tax redistribution bill being declared unconstitutional by the State Attorney General. That legal opinion prompted Gov. Scott Matheson to veto the bill last March.
