Ethel Bradford, womens page editor of the Green Sheet won three first place awards. One for publicity and promotion for the papers annual cooking school, another for a special edition to the same school and a first for the best family-lifestyl- e page. Two first place awards were also garnered by Michele Bartmess, photographer and staff writer for the paper, who picked up a first in photography. Contest chairman was Jean Gordon, assisted by Betty Spencer, Betty Fisher and Dawn Tracy. Contest entries were judged according to the size of the circulation of the various newspapers, with large weeklies in one category, dailies in another and small weeklies in yet another classification. Other winners include Sara Yates, Koleen Peterson, Kathleen Bradford, Cindy Yurth, Apryl Cox, Betty Fisher, Betty Ramsey.
