| Show citizens of sacramento promise to make the irrigation congress a sinking event two beeks of overs fed pleasure prom sed for those who attend the F national irr gat on congress Con oress valuable prizes provided for banners sacramento cal plans tor what is expected to be the greatest irrigation celebration in the history of this coun try were announced here sunday by the board of control ot the fifteenth national irrigation congress con giess ther will be a two weeks series of festivals celebrations and jubilees held in con lection with the irrigation congress chich opens in this city september 2 heretofore the congress has been largely in its composition but this year a special effort has been made to give to it a national character the program has been apanged to a very wide range of subjects including much that Is of interest to the west the principal features of the cele bration which will mark this event will be a magnificent irrigation parade the electrical street illuminations will be most elaborate festoons ol 01 incan descents will be everywhere while pi eminent corners will be adorned electric windmills and other special designs all typifying ir other features will be fruit besth als carnivals and harvest jubilees belabor ate musical and social t motion steamboat and yacht excursions on the sacramento river and railway elc if over the state the interstate exposition of ed band products and forest pro ducts which will be the principal event auxiliary to the congress prom ases a splendid assemblage especially of the products of irrigation the it trophies for interstate competition is now complete and consists of awen t magnificent loving cups provided by prominent westerners at a cost of from 50 to 1200 each farmers prizes to the value of many thousands of dollars will be distributed among individual exhibitors |
