Upon investigation the babysitter's only child was diagnosed as having measles. So far, follow-up by the Salt Lake City County Health Department has revealed no spread from this case and ro known source of infection. Since the mother spent a great deal of time Christmas shopping with the c ild during the probable exposure and infectious period there is definitely a possibility that other Utah children and adults are infected. Any child or adult with a temperature of 101 degrees F. or nicre and a generalized rash preceded by a running nose, cough or watery eyes should be suspected as having measles. The Sooner the tment of Health can identify a case of measlesthe easier it is to surround the case of measles with a wall of immunity and as a result stop the spread of a disease which can lead to Pneumonia, permanent deafness, mental retardation and sometimesdeath. 7 Utah Communities Obtain Large Grants PROVO’S KEITH Alger runs one of Provo’s more colorful lunch spots.
