Drain and serve immediately Makes 4'z to 5 dozen Empanadas 3 cups flour 14 teaspoons salt | cup snortening Posas Culd water lour and salt together Cut in shortening QUICK EMPANADAS ‘a recipe King CrabFilling until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal 2 1 can refrigerated butterflake dinner rolls Peeloff 2 thin circlesof roll dough. Place one Sprinkle cold water. | tablespoon at a time. over flour mixture; toss lightly with fork Shape dough into smooth ball Wrap with wax paper and Yefrigerate while preparing filling KING\CRAB FILLING 1 package (§ to 8 oz.) frozen Alaska King crab, Attempt Appealing Appetizers teaspoonfilling on one side of dough. Fold in half and pinch edges together Fryin deepfat heated to 375 degrees 30 to 60 seconds. Drain and serve immediately. Makes approximately 3 dozen empanadas . thawed ‘s cup chopped pimiento-stuffed olives 1 hard-cooked egg, chopped 2 tablespoons chopped green onions | tablespoon lemon juice KING CRAB APPETIZER BALLS 1 recipe King Crab Filling 1 cup fine dry bread crumbs, divided 1 egg 1 tablespoon water Add 2 cup bread crumbs to King Crab Filling mix well. Shape mixture into small bails. ap- ‘2 teaspoon salt 4 drops bettled hot pepper sauce 1 egg,slightly beaten Drain and slice crab; combine with remaining filling ingredients proximately l-inch in diameter. Beat egg and water together. Dip crab balls in egg mixture then in remaining bread crumbs. Fryin deepfat heated to 350 degrees F.. approximately | minute or until golden brown. Drain. Servehot To prepare and fry Empanadas: Divide pastry in half and roll out to ‘s-inch thickness SSENTS: with Mexican Dip. FRYING: 1 tablespoon grated onion 1 tablespoon lemon juice 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish ‘4 teaspoon bot taco sauce Combine above ingredients. Serve as a dip for pine Crab Appetizer Balls.
