Friends may visit the family from 9:30 to 10:30 Thursday morning at the Lindquist Mortuary in Kays- Elias Alexander Dawson, former Layton city mayor, 4th-18t- church leader, businessman, and civil service worker, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 1980 at the 'Davis North Medical Center following a short illness. He ;;was 82 years of age. He was born April 27, 1897 in Layton, the son of William Alexander , Dawson and Ella Rose Adams Dawson. ' ville. THE SERVICES will be conducted by Bishop Howard B. DAWSON a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy received his MBA from Harvard University in 1947. He has been active in the Church and served as stake president of the San Mateo Stake for eight years. LDS He was currently bishop the San Carlos Ward. THE FAMILY lived Redwood City for the past years. He was employed E. Dawson, Niel N. Dawson and David Lewis. Grave dedicatory prayer - 20 by Standard Oil Company of California since 1947 and was vice president and general manager of Ortho Agricul- tural Chemicals, Chevron Chemical Co. He was chairman of National Agricultural Chemicals Association. A national organization represent- ing over 100 companies throughout the world. He is also a national director of and numerous other or- ganizations. Surviving are his wife of Redwood City, Calif.; seven sons and daughters, David Jr., Rebecca Salt, Deborah, Burton, Sunset. THE VIEWING was held at Crosby-Gray at Burlingame, Calif, on Jan. 7 and funeral services were held at the San Carlos LDS Ward Chapel, Redwood City, Calif, on Jan. 8. Memorial services will be held on Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. at Lindquists Chapel in Clearfield. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the n memorial services. Burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery. High School. Later, he received a bachelor of science degree in logistics from Weber State College. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church, a member of the Layton American Legion, the Air Force Association and the Retired Air Force Officers Association. He was a veteran of World War II and served as an instructor of 5 bombers. SURVIVING are his widow of Layton; one son and one daughter, Barry A. Gould, West Point; Mrs. Steven (Patty) Federowicz, Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother of Joplin, Mo.; two brothers and two sisters, Richard Gould, McMinnville, Ore.; Jerry Gould, Mrs. Jim (Vesta) Grindstaff, Mrs. Otis (Barbara) Ingram, all of Joplin, Mo.
