Just what exactly is a migraine headache? This frequently asked question was put to Dr. Barton of the Chiropractic Care Center. Science has long been aware that the migraine headache results primarily from stretching of the arteries and nerves of the head. The headache may last several hours or several days and may be mild or severe. The outstanding feature of the migraine syndrome, states Dr. Barton is that it usually starts on one side of the head. . . but may spread to the tire head as the headache develops. en- Other symptoms of the migraine syndrome are irritability, nausea, and sensitiveness to light. Vomiting may occur, accompanied by constipation or diarrhea. Usually, the migraine headache is felt as a severe, throbbing pain anywhere in the head, including the face and neck. Perhaps the most frightening aspect of the migraine headache is what Doctors call preheadache phenomena. This means that the victim soon learns the signals of an impending attack, knows it is on its way and lives in fear that it will strike at a critical time or important occasion. Preheadache phenomena usually starts with a slight, fluttery feeling in the stomach, rapidly followed by the sensation that lights and colors seem brighter than normal. Dr. Barton points out, After a few experiences with this symptom, the victim learns to second phase. He sees spots the and fear anticipate before the eyes. Then vision dims as he loses sight in about fifty percent of his visual field, and he fears he H may be going blind. We have many individuals who come to us for treatment of the migraine condition. They seeku on permanent removal of the condition that brings migraine. have Happily I can say that literally hundreds is treatment found that our Centers systematic of eradication migraine towards directed permanent and the resolution of the tensions and conflicts that sqffound this most serious condition. noon.
