Sheffield as chairman assisted by Mrs. Edna Parker and Mrs. Hazel Parrish. It was a luncheon for their closing sono-ho- cial with members 21 attending. New officers for the year who were elected were Barbara Stephenson, president: Bea Johnson, vice president and Nancy Oberg. secretary. 1Kj The Phillips Camp of Daughterof Utah Pioneers met Monday . May 18 at the home of Mrs. LaVelle by Schaefer-meyer- . The lesson was given Mrs. Geneive Meacham. Mrs. Jean Abrams was hos- tess to the Mountain Road Neighborhood Birthday Club at her home Thursday e ening. Mrs. JoAnn Johnson entertained the Orchid Club at her home Tuesday evening. Mav 12. AND MRS. GLEN T. WALKER Golden Date The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Glen T. Walker, 179 S. 1250 E., Fruit Heights, will be observed May 29 from 9 p.m. e in the room of the Kaysville East Stake Center, 201 S. 600 E. Their children will host the affair. 7-- multi-purpos- Alabama for the LDS Church. He served in two bishoprics, was regional welfare coordinator and served in the high council. He was employed at the Vernal Post Office for 22 years and retired as assistant postmaster. Doris served in several church positions and both were stake missionaries. GLEN T. Walker was born Oct. 12, 1910 in Lyman, Wyo., a son of John C. and Mary Walker. Doris Smith was born in Linwood, Ut. Oct. 20, 1910, the daughter of Alvin and Sarah Ann Smith and grew up in McKinnon, Wyo. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 27, 1931 and resided in McKinnon, Wyo. where Glen taught school for 15 years. They also bought a ranch, store, post office and gas station from Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Smith. Glen served in the bishopric for three years and was bishop for five years. Doris served as postmistress and store keeper. THEY MOVED to Farming-to- n and lived there for 2 ': years before buying a home in Fruit Heights. They have been temple workers in the Salt Lake and Ogden temples and was called on a mission to the Tennessee Nashville Mission in July of 1979. They haVe three sons and one daughter: Norlan Walker, Centerville; Owen Walker, Layton; David Walker and Mrs. Wendell (Glenna) Collier, both of Fruit Heights. They have 13 grandchildren and five FRIENDS AND relatives are invited to attend the open AFTER THEIR move to house and share in their golden Vernal in 1948, Glen was called on a short term mission to wedding evening. Press the crumb mixture into a pie pan, bringing up on sides as you can, set aside. Now make the cheese filling. d COMBINE THE cup of sugar, gelatin and salt in a small saucepan. Blend in the beaten egg yolk and milk and cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil and gelatin is dissolved. 7 Marilla Sessions has prepared a lusciously rich angel cheese cake pie. This elegant dessert is just right for cheese cake lovers and should be popular with family and friends. THE HOT fudge topping is another rich sauce to be indulged in, for just special occasions. Marilla likes to keep it one-thir- on hand and ready to warm and serve over ice cream when guests drop in. ANGEL CHEESE CAKE PIE VA cups all purpose flour ': Remove from heat and blend in the softened cheese, lemon juice and vanilla. Beat until creamy and then chill until mixture is very thick but not set firm. cup nuts or coconut, chopped fine 'A cup brown sugar, firmly packed ' cup soft butter wcup plus 2 Tbs. sugar I envelope or I Tbs. unflavored gelatin 'A tsp. salt ': cup milk I egg. separated oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened Tbs. lemon juice tsp. vanilla cup whipping cream COMBINE FLOUR, nuts or coconut and brown sugar, cut in butter to make a crumbly BEAT THE egg white until soft mounds form and gradually beat in 2 Tbs. sugar and fold this into the chilled cheese mixture. Beat the cream until thick and fold into the mixture, then spoon into the crumb pic shell and sprinkle with the reserved crumbs, then chill from 6 hours until very firm and serve. Just a small wedge of this luscious pie is plenty after a big dinner. 1 1 Xi Chi Chapter of Beta Sig- ma Phi held their Founders Day program in Bountiful at the Elks Lodge. A MOTHERS Day brunch was hosted by the chapter for their mothers on May 3 at Gray Cliff Lodge. The regular sorority meeting for the Xi Chi Chapter was held on Tuesday, May 12 at the home of Carla Broeder with installation of new officers. NEW OFFICERS are: Millie Bates, president: Jean Hill, vice president; Sharon Booth, recording secretary. She enjoys making this rich dessert and also another flavorful hot fudge sauce topping. She keeps the fudge topping on hand to warm a hit and serve on ice cream or some types of pudding. MARILLA SESSIONS early life was spent in Idaho but she has lived in this area since 1949. Has been a substitute teacher, active in her church and other organiza- tions. She has the hot fudge topping ready to serve in a short time, for there is always vanilla ice cream to serve it over. HOT FUDGE TOPPING cups sugar 4 Tbs. cocoa 4 Tbs. flour oz can evaporated milk 4 Tbs. butter 2 tsp. vanilla MIX SUGAR, cocoa and flour in a small saucepan and slowly add the milk and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add butter and vanilla when slightly cooled. Store in tight jar and keep refrigerated until 2 ready to use, then warm for serving. Marilla has been an active member of the Golden Years Center, a volunteer, and helps serve lunch four days each VFW Set week. She is friendly and joys people. en- WEDDINGS The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Layton is holding a Mexican lunch and a garage sale this Saturday and Sunday, May 4 at the Post home. 1389 N. Main. Layton. Food items will go on sale beginning at 12 noon. The garage sale will start at the same time.
