T-- JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS This week Layton High School has been celebrating Roman Holidays, an annual Lancer tradition. The student-bod- y officers have been in charge of it and have a lot planned still to come. THE OLMPICS between all of the different clubs were held on Monday and on Tuesday the Lancer baseball team play ed in the state tournament at Derks Field. Karen Drury were selected as teenagers of the year by the Elks Club of Roy. They both received cash awards. Tim received $50 and Karen was awarded $100. Both are high honor students and members of the National Junior Honor Society. Tim is the student-bodvice president and Karen is the science club treasurer. Tim is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Eccleston of Layton. He was a member of the track team and placed third in the 800 at the district final meet. He has been a paper boy for over six years. DUTCH BOY 773-500- t IIft 4 tV '4A i Tim Eccleston set two records 'in jump rope. The first was to see how- many jumps he could do w ithout stopping or w ithout messing up. He jumped 645 times. He also set a record at seeing how fast he could do 100 jumps. He did them in 24 seconds. Tim also set a record in limbo competiton. He cleared 21 inches, which for those who did it. was three books and a cone beating the old record by five books. IN THE Frisbee throw. Mike Reed threw 61 vards. Several school records were set. for example: Steven Hash, an 8th grader, threw the softball 76 yards. Steven was also quite thirsty that week. Jl Accepting Applications The St. Mark's Garden Complex is accepting applications which is scheduled for completion in July. THE 72- - unit apartment complex for the elderly and physically handicapped is located on 4th North behind the Kaysville Village Shopping Center. In order to qualify for residency in the complex, applicants must have an annual income less than $12,000 for individuals or $13,708 for coulow-inco- ples. SIPPORT services to be provided at the federally subsidized housing project include meals, homemaker service, home health aids and transportation for the frail elderly. This is to provide services for the elderly persons who otherwise would be confined to nursing care centers or institutions, according to the Epis- copal Management Corp., which will be administers of the complex.
