The new babies belong to the following children of the ll 1 Amberlei Starr, a miracle baby, weighing 3 lbs. 10 oz. was born May 16 to Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hellewell of Salt Lake City. She arrived in the Davis North Medical Center. At home are two other children to welcome her, Graham and Summer. Mrs. Hellewell is the former Jeri Griffeth of Fruit Heights. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Griffeth, Fruit Heights are the other grandparents. On June 6, Mark and Sue Hellewells baby was born in the North Medical Center in Layton. He was named Guy Robert and weighed 7 lbs. oz. At home is Cherilynn to wel- 1 Layton Births Mr. and Mrs. Richard Myrup of Layton are announcing the arrival of their new son on July 4, 1981. The baby weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. Mrs. Myrup is the former Barbara Nickalas. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Myrup of Farming-toand Mr. and Mrs. Mike Nickalasof Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Myrup of Gunnison and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Burt of Manti, Ut. are the n WSC PLAY Two girls from Bountiful, one from Centerville, and a young man from Layton, are working with the Golden Spike Theatre company now performing three musical productions in Ogden. BRENDA LODI, a graduate High School, is the daughter of Allene Brown of Boise, Idaho, and John Lodi of Pahoa, Hawaii. Teri Cowan, a graduate of Bountiful High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Campbell. She is married to Thomas Cowan of Davis of Absecon, New Jersey. Melinda Cole is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Cole of Bountiful. She is also a graduate of Bountiful High School. Terry Long is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Long. He gra- duated from Layton High School in 1980. Mrs. Cowan is working as Company Manager for the core company of actors and actresses performing in three major musical productions. The season opened on June 25 with performances of Gods-pel- l. The second offering of the season, known as the Golden Spike Theatre Festival, opened The Sound of Music on July 2. Miss Lodi and Mr. Long work in the scene shop preparing sets and properties; Miss Cole works in the costume shop. After a break for lunch, both girls rehearse from 1:45 until 4:45 p.m. Dinner break is followed by a call for makeup at 6:30 with performance curtain time scheduled each night for 8 p.m. MRS. COWAN graduated from WSC in early June with a BA degree in theatre. During her time at Weber State, she had played a number of important roles in WSC Theatre pro- Gods-pel- l, the director has chosen to have company members use their own names. In The Boyfriend," she is cast as the female lead, Maisie, in which she sings and dances her way through the entire production. Mr. Long plays the vicious town mayor, Herr Zeller, in The Sound of Music. His featured number in Gods-pe- ll is Light of the World. In The Boyfriend, he plays the part of a slightly addled French teen-age- r ductions including Mme. in The Cherry Ranevskaya Orchard, and the title role in The Prime of Miss Jean Bro-diand Rita in Uncommon Women and Others. She was awarded the M. Thatcher Allred Award at the end of her e, senior year for outstanding service to theatre during four named years at Weber State. She was also cited as the best actress for her role of Jean Brodie. Miss Lodi is a senior at Weber State this year. She worked in summer repertory theatre last year in Wyoming. A theatre major, she has played a variety of roles during her college training, including Sandy in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie for which she was nominated to compete for the Irene Ryan scholarship, a Alphonse. AS COMPANY manager, Mrs. Cowan is responsible for assisting the three directors during rehearsals. One director is a professional from New York City brought to Ogden gust 8. for the summer festival. MISS LODI, Miss Cole, and Mr. Long were chosen in March to join the carefully selected company. Ten performers were selected from more than 200 auditioners to make up the central company. She plans a career in theatre education. The daughter of an accomplished performer, Miss Cole has worked most of her life in theatre. In high school she played several important roles including Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady, and the leading lady in Kiss Me Kate.
