One favorite wreath pattern the Christensens enjoy is the mixture of are easy, inexpensive and original. Children old enough to use cookie cutters can make a wreath. The most expensive item is the aluminum foil that is formed into a round shape. The salt dough recipe Mrs. Christensen uses is 2 cups Hour, 1 cup salt, and I cup wa- ter. Mix the ingredients mi- together and knead for ten nutes. Place the dough in a plastic bag until you are ready to use it. THE WREATHS base is formed out of foil. It can be any size. Flour the base well and place it on a cookie sheet or a pizza sheet. Roll the dough out. Choose cookie cutters to use for the shapes you want. Mrs. Christensen and her family make wreaths using only one shape or they use many shapes for the same wreath. The design is up to the one making the wreath. Star shapes make pretty wreaths. Holly leaves, snowmen, trees shapes. Where the dough overlaps touch the bottom shape with a few drops of water to make the shapes hold together better. After the wreath is completed place it in a degree mioven and bake for nutes. The longer you bake it the more brown it becomes. Wood tones can be achieved by baking the wreaths longer. If you want to hang the wreath up by a hole at the top, insert a plastic straw where the hole should be before baking the wreath. The straw should be removed when the wreath goes in the oven. 350-37- 0 20-3- 0 AFTER THE wreath is dry shellac it thoroughly four times. Allow the wreath to dry between shellac applications.
