Peaches work well 1 cup flour 2 eggs 1 tsp salt ' 1 cup sugar (can use brown or white) 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. cinnamon Vi tsp. baking powder THIS RECIPE needs no shortening. Beat the eggs well and add sugar and beat again. Fold in fruit and dry ingredients. Bake in a small baking pan (9x9). Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve with whipped cream. By LUCILLE STRINGHAM If you have some canned peaches that you need to use try some of these recipes. It is a good way to use some of your old bottled fruit. ROMAN PEACH CAKE 1 cup shortening cups sugar 2 4 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla tsp. salt 4 cups flour 2 Tbsp. baking powder z tsp nutmeg 2 tsp. allspice 2 cups mi 1 Qt. sliced peaches, well Vi QUICK FRUIT COBBLER drained with the juice into a baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg. Mix together the following and sprinkle on the fruit. cup quick mix (Bisquick) 'h cup oatmeal F3cup brown sugar V cups sugar 2 cups flour 1 2 eggs 1 1 2 cups fruit mashed, use a little juice Vi cup nuts, chopped BEAT EGGS and add the sugar slowly. Add the oil and fruit. Mix in the dry ingredients and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream. Also good cold. BROILED PEACHES FRUIT TOPPING salt 2 tsp. salad oil NELDAS CAKE USING Put one quart sliced peaches tsp cinnamon ': tsp. I MELT ONE square of margarine and drizzle over the topping. Bake 30 minutes at 375 degrees. Serve warm from the oven with ice cream or cold milk poured over it. You can use apple slices or cherries also.
