Walker, a Republican, will seek reelection in the upcoming countywide election. Walker said it has been a dis- tinct honor to serve the citizens of Pavis County as their county clerk and to be involved with the tremendous growth of the county. THE COUNTY clerk works closely with the district court judges to insure matters before the courts are in proper order for the judges. The clerks office currently processes more court files' per month than it did in an 18 month period when Walker first was elected. The county clerk serves as the clerk to the board of commissioners and Walker said that he has enjoyed working with the various county commissioners which has kept him aware of various situations that arise from time to time and e to be a part of the planning for Davis County. long-rang- SINCE HE has been in office, election voting districts have increased from 79 dis- tricts to presently 150 districts and there are plans to realign several more but they had to be delayed because there wasnt enough time to do them this year. Davis County was the first in Utah to modernize its voting system by using the punch-car- d system in 1974 and combining polling places in schools and other public buildings. We have been told that Davis County has the best election map in the state and other counties are envious of Davis Countys voting maps and they are using it as a model for their county," he said. IN A RELATED matter, the Mental Health Dept, announced plans for a May luncheon to honor volunteers who have worked with the organization during the year.
