Bracken of 710 N. Eastside Drive, Layton, will remain in Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, after completing Air Force basic training. DURING THE six weeks at Lackland the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and re ceived special training in man relations. hu- In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. The cast puts final touches on their upcoming production of Music Man scheduled for a five day run, June 28, 29, 30 and July 1 and 2 at the Happy Hollow Golf Course. June Tickets may be purchased at Brackens Bookstore in Kaysville. THIS YEARS production features over 200 in the performing cast with a backup production crew of over 50 people who helped record, build scenery, maintain the golf course, publicity, programs, etc. It is the 7th year the communities of Kaysville and Fruit Heights have presented the outdoor musical. In 1976 an original musical featuring the history of Kaysville was presented. It seemed to promote community pride and friendship. Therefore, the religious leaders of the two communities and the mayors of Fruit Heights and Kaysville organized the Kaysville-Frui- t Heights Cultural and Performing Arts Council to continue and establish a tradition. EACH YEAR, many months of hard work is put in accomplishing this production. Each year the attendance gets larger. The council has heard from people as far away as Las Vegas, St. George, and other communities, who are making special arrangements to attend this years production. Last year over 8,000 attended the performance of Oliver. Dr. Ute Knowlton and LaMar Timothy have graciously allowed the use of their golf s, Packer, who plays the part of the mayor, a fumbling irritating chief executive in a samll course without charge. Music Man The is a de- lightful musical, especially good for family audiences. There are children as young as three years old in it, all the way up to senior citizens. The Iowa town. One of the most delightful parts of the musical is when the mayor's wife, who finds out she has hidden talent as a great dancer, teaches the Grecian Urn dance to the leading ladies of dancing, which was choreographed by Ramona Porter, is delightful. The music is very uplifting. the community. HAROLD HILL is played by Lowell Taylor, who does a fantastic job in his portrayal of the salesman. COSTUMES were designed by Stephanie Clark, who was Davis High School's Sterling Scholar in homemaking this year. Stephanie designed the Janell Adams will win your heart with her beauty and charm as Marian the Librarian, and Eric Steiner may bring a tear to your eye, when he finds out that his idol Harold Hill is a liar. One of the most amusing performances is that of Tom Marine Pvt. Jay D. Frankof Penny and Jerry Franklin of 488 E. 450 S., Clearfield, has completed recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San lin, son costumes for Oliver. Steven Talbot directs the -- orchestra and has put in many hours of practice and rehearsing. This is Mr. Talbots second year as orchestra direc-- . tor and he has done a most outstanding job. The musical is under the general direction of Margaret Brough with Dawn Naylor assisting. Plan to attend, but bring a blanket and a jacket. You may have to come early to get the best seating arrangements. Tickets are $1 for children; $2 for adults or $4 for families. Food will be available. Preliminary entertainment will be furnished by the Merry Music Makers and the Young Uns.
