The current world record for German Brown trout is a 33 lb. 10 oz. trophy fish caught in 1977 in Flaming Gorge. Utah's record lake trout also came from Flaming Gorge, a 37 lb. fish caught in 1980. THE TROPHY fish, which produces new records several times a year, is the striped bass out of Lake Powell. The latest record fish was caught in May, 1982, weighing 31 lbs.6oz. It is expected that for a record to stand for any length of time, the trophy will have to be considerably larger than this fish.
