Her desire, early in life, was to earn a degree in home economics. She accomplished this goal by graduating from college with a major in home economics and a teaching certificate. LaDonna taught school in Nevada for two years and at Brighton High in Salt Lake City for two years. She is now teaching and practicing her home economic skills on her family of five children. YOU NEVER stop teaching. You just bring your own principles into practical use in your own home. Home economics is one profession you can use all your life whether you choose to work at a job away from home or stay home and apply your education to the e family. Sewing, child development, full-tim- family life, cooking are skills everyone needs, Mis. Davis says. When you enter the Davis home, one of the first things that impresses you is the balance of interior design. LaDonna has upholstered her own furniture. She made her own drapes and covered her walls with fabric that matches or compliments her upholstered pieces and draperies. THE DAVIS children, Dixon 10, Diane 7, Cheryl 2 and Krista 2 months, often wear clothing made by their mother. Mrs. Davis says her family is noted for their matchand ing outfits. It is good to serve guests because it can all be done ahead of time, then baked when youre not home. LaDonna reduces the heat slightly when she bakes it this way. VEGETABLE TOSTADOS 1 medium zucchini thinly sliced U2 cups . medium onion, sliced 3 oz. can mushroom pieces (undraineo V cup sliced celery 2 Tbsp. green pepper Vi tsp. salt 4 com or flour tortillas 2 tbsp. cooking oil V2 cup diary sour cream 1 tomato chopped IN A pan combine zucchini, onion, mushrooms, celery, green peppier and salt Bring to a boil and simmer covered for eight minutes until crisp and tender. Drain well. Place tortillas on a cookie sheet and top each with one-hacup of vegetable mix. with Heat in 350 degree cheese. Sprinkle oven until the cheese melts, 3-- 5 minutes.
