Carol creaute touche are found throughout the house which was selected to be featured this year on the Layton Civic Arts Council Christmas home tour. There are hand sew n craft items, oil paintings, cent mics and stained glass pieces, aH creations of Carol, placed approximately throughout the many large rooms. One interior stained glass window is extremely eyeatching. It is Urge, bright and attractive. CAROL LNHERITED her love of art from her parents, Earl and Olive WTxom. Mr. Wixom taught art in the Ogden school system for many yean. His ability is well known and appreciated by many North Davis resi dents. Olive Wixom is a very accomplished person. She is probably best known for her Frontier chocolates. learned from this Carol craft special Lady" her mother. I love the challenge of doing things. 1 love education and learning. I am constantly finding out about new things and then I try doing them, Carol says. j : : : : i. .v . hand-dippe- . d FOR THE PAST several years, Carol has been in this line. absorbed with stain glass. She is Carol simply bought a book and a soldering iron and went to work. All her pieces are of original design. She has made everything from sun catchers and flowerpots e windows. One piece that hangs in the Egbert to at Christmas time won third place in the room living Utah State Fair. Carols enthusiasm extends outside of the home. She taught dancing for several years. She established the dental assistance program in the Davis School District. self-taug- ht full-siz- THE EGBERT family does many things together. The four children have all learned to play the piano and violin. They can all dance. Carol says they especially enjoy clogging. Carol has learned many skills along with her children. Learning is love and it is fun, says the music teacher Suzuki. Carol believes this. Her philosophy is that there is never an unpleasant learning experience. Learning is theory and learning is meaningful. Vacation time for the Egberts is a family affair. They travel together to many of the historical points of interest in our country. One favorite recreation spot is some property the Egberts own in Montana. Sometimes during the holidays family members sleep in the bam and share special Christmas foods and gifts. Everything Carol does reflects her outgoing person-- , ality. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes and cool. Mix well: 1 cup powdered sugar 1 package cream cheese 1 cup Cool Whip Spread over crust Mix: 3 cups cold milk 2 small packages pistacheo pudding Beat well until starting to set. Poinsettia leaves and flowers, for example, can beirratate the mouth and stomach and cause vomiting and nausea. Mistletoe and holly berries may be poisonous it more than a few are swallowed.
