BAKED CARAMEL CORN 1 cup butter or margarine 2 cups brown sugar Vi cup corn syrup - light or dark 1 tsp. salt V tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 6 quarts popped corn MELT MARGARINE or butter in a heavy saucepan. Stir in sugar, syrup, salt, bring to a boil, stirring. Boil five minutes without stirring. Remove from heat, stir in soda and vanilla. It will foam. Pour over warm popped corn and mix well. It is best to have the popped com warm. Turn into a shallow baking pan. Bake in oven 250 deg. for one hour, stirring every ten minutes. Re- move from oven and cool. Break apart. Heat the popped com in the warm oven while the syrup is cooking. PEANUT BUTTER MARSHMALLOW BARS V cup margarine Vi pound marshmallows Vi cup peanut butter 5 cups dry cereals - such as Kix, Cheerios, com flakes 1 cup peanuts MELT MARGARINE, peanut butter, marshmallows over hot water.
