Show ee ‘Santaquin Day’ Fix-Up Saturday Campaign plans are complete for “Santaquin Day" Saturday (Oct, 10) when 2000 Brigham Young University students will descend on the small Utah County Community in a full-day clean-up, paint-up,fix-up drive. More than the army of 2000 students needed for the project have signed up, according to Cam Caldweli,vice president of student relations and coordinator of Santaquin Day. The volunteers assembled in the Fieldhouse Wednesday night for instructions. Local businessmen and governmental units also have responded to the appeal for materials. McDonald’s will supply 1500 hamburgers and 1500 drinks to bolster the workers, and other food wili be supplied by BYU coedsand the womenof Santaquin, About 50 homes and other structures will be painted, and Jones Paint and Glass Co. has donated 160 gallons of paint, Shermer Williams Paint is providing brushes, and Provo Paint and Glass, brushes and scrapers. The students also will demolish about 15 old barns and homes, haul away trees and oid car bodies, clean up weeds and trash, build a tennis court and 15 tables in the park and complete Development has sent the students a letter of congratulations and encouragement.
