Sorenson establishment in Delta for many years until their retirement. Mrs. Sorensen held numerous church positions, including service in the Manti Temple,, She is survived by her husband. (Carol Dawn) Kendric, Woodland Hills, California; a grandson who is serving a mission in Italy, a granddaughter; brothers and sisters, Duane J., Rebecca Pratt, Mrs. Ivan (Ina) Nielson, Mrs. Gordon (Clarice) Nielson, all Oak City; Orin, Orem; Mrs. Don (L.orrainc) Anderson, Jr., Gunnison. Funeral services for Denna F. Sorenson, 74, former Manti resident, who died at the West Millard Hospital in Delta on July 14, 1984, were held in the Delta Third-Fourt- h Ward Chapel on July 18, 1984. Interment was in the Manti City Cemetery. Mrs. Sorenson was born on November 26, 1909, in Oak City, Millard County, Utah, to Joshua and Ida Jacobson Finlinson. She married Eldon A. Sorenson on January 10, 1933, in the Manti LDS Temple. Harry Blundell, President and Chief Executive Officer, announced he intends to retire from the company effective Feb. 1, 1985, to end a career with UP&L. utility since 1979, ends a career with the company that has included service in a variety of accounting and managerial capacities, including Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer. He was elected a Director in 1965, Vice President in 1967, Senior Vice President in 1974, and Executive Vice President in The Board of Directors elected James C. Taylor, Senior Vice President, to succeed Mr. Blundell. To provide a smooth transition during the interim, Mr. Taylor will Mr. Blundell, who will remain a Director of the utility, plans to pursue some personal interests in the years ahead. 36-ye- become President and Chief Operating Officer effective Aug. 1. Support local businessmen , Thursday, July 19, 1984 Petersons honored on Golden Anniversary Clifford and Beth Peterson were honored Saturday afternoon on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The festivities were held at the home of Byard and Shirlene Peterson with the lawn and patio being decorated artistically in keeping with the Golden Anniversary celebration. A beautiful, threetiered wedding cake was made for the occasion. Twenty one family members joined to bring their best wishes for the couple and to enjoy dinner and visiting. Clifford and Beth are parents of three children. Byard Peterson, Ephraim; Mrs. Richard (Marcia) Kjar, Gunnison and Mrs. Moms (Lorraine) Young. Farmington, New Mexico. They also have 12 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Clifford has been engaged in farming, turkey and cattle raising. The couple have spent their entire married life in Ephraim where thev have been involved in church ami civic affairs. On July 5, their special day. they J. and Mrj. Clifford Peterson Mr. spent the aay at the North Rim of Grand Canyon and in the southern Utah parks. "Stretching from the depression days in the 1930s until today, Clifford and Beth said, "we have had a happy and rewarding marriage. Andy Russell to serve in California Mission Andy Russell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Russell of Ephraim, has received his call to serve in the Ventura, California LDS Mission. A farewell testimonial w ill be held in the Ephraim Fifth Ward (Main Street chapel) on Sunday, July 22. 1984, and he will enter the Missionary Training Center on July 26. Sacrament services for the Fifth Ward commence at about 2:45 p.m. Andy graduated from Manti High School and Seminary in 1984. While in high school he received many honors in basketball and sports. He was listed in Region during his junior and senior years and as All State in his senior year.
