Show TTWE Published by Messenger-Enterpris- Inc. e, Jonuory 24, F ormer Manti girl wins gold medal Pamela Kaye Slaugh, daughter of Garvcne and Calvin Slaugh, formerly of Manti, now living in Bountiful, recently participated in the 1985 Utah Special Olympics Winter Games. Pamela won a gold medal in compulsory and freestyle figure skating in Level 1. There were 40 skaters in this level, which was divided into six groups. She came out first over all in this Level 1 category. This is Pamelas second gold medal in three years of skating in the Special Olympic competition. Pamela was skating at the site of the 1984 United States skating championships. She was judged by a judge who was also a judge at the 1984 Winter Olympics at Sarajevo, Yugoslavia. was presented her gold medal, and a kiss, by John Naber, the 1976 gold medal swimming champion. They were hosted with dinners, and dances and other entertainment while staying at Park City.
