They were printed in 1898, 1906, and 1941. It was interesting to note that A.W. Therein are family records and a fair history of this City where I was born, where we have reared our family, and where we have sent down roots in an extension of four generations of progenitors who also eallcd Manti home. From these histories, we are reminded that the first small band of Manti arrived in immigrants November 22, 1849, after having left Salt Lake City three weeks prior. Western Family As winter loosened its grip, the settlers clubbed rattlesnakes, came face to face with Indian troubles and the harassment, and surveyed townsite. The city was laid off in blocks and people began to build their cabins on city lots and to plant all in less than four months crops after their arrival.. On March 6, 1850, steps had been taken to construct a church building and during that summer they built a bowery for the purpose of holding public meetings and Sabbath Day services. The First meeting recorded there was held July 7, 1 850. August 5, 1850, the settlement was christened Manti. The first regu'ar school term began in September 850 in a log house. 1 Manti City was incorporated February 6, 1851, and the first meeting of the City Council was held 6 Guittard n gg iiV4oi.ll CHOCOLATE CHIPS oi. can Festival STRAWBERRY JAM rg U 32 oz.
